Club Notes: Week ending – 6th of May 2018


Senior Ladies Football:

The ladies travelled to Cloughaneely on Sunday and won 5.09 to 0.06. Well done.


Senior Men’s Football:

Great result for the senior men on Saturday away to Ardara winning 2.09 to 0.13. The reserves were not in action. There is no game fixed for this week.


Senior Hurling:

The Hurlers lost out to Setanta in The Cross on Friday evening on a score of 0.17 to 0.08.

Donegal/Cavan Game:

With Ulster Championship time around the corner we’re asking members once again to help with the different jobs on the day in the shops or stewarding etc. Anyone able to help out on the day can they please contact Club Secretary Alan Martin on 086 172 3899.


Harry Laverty Street League:

The Finals of the inaugural U9/U10 Harry Laverty Street League were held in MacCumhaill Park. A big crowd watched the 6 teams battle it out in 3 highly competitive games with life and limb on the line with every kick! Following the games the players, supporters and coaches moved upstairs to the clubhouse for much needed refreshments. Every player was presented with a commemorative medal by Jonathon Laverty, son of Harry Laverty and the winning team were presented with a special cup and medals. Harry Laverty was a die-hard Sean MacCumhaills clubman who coached numerous underage teams and put a massive effort into improving and supporting players at all levels in our club. Massive thanks to Martin McLaughlin who sponsored the cups, trophies and medals. Thanks to all the coaches, referees and parents who turned out to support the players. Big thanks to the parents who provided the refreshments.



The Bingo will take place in Jackson’s Hotel on Sunday with an 8.30pm start. The Snowball jackpot is €9,000 for 45 numbers or less or €500 for 50 numbers or less. All are very welcome.



There was no winner of this week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 13, 16, 25 and 29. There was no match 3 winners so 3 envelopes were pulled out: Mary Espey, Woodlawn, Donal Kelly Jr. Dooballagh and Tina Mc Laughlin, c/o Chris Doherty who receive €30 each. Next week’s jackpot is €7,000.


Club Shop:

The Club Shop has a wide selection of club crested shorts, bobble hats, gear bags, sliotars and footballs for all age grades, as well as socks and Gaelic gloves which would make perfect presents. The Shop will be open from 6.30pm to 7.30pm each Wednesday evening. Our full range of club crested t-shirts, squad tops, hoodies, training bottoms, gilets and jackets are available from the club shop section of the O’Neills website.
