Club Notes: Week ending – 12th of August 2018

Senior Hurling:

The senior hurlers played Burt on Saturday evening in O’Donnell Park in the semi-final of the senior Championship. The lads put in a great performance and led 2.08 to 0.08 at half time but unfortunately Burt were able to rally in the second half and the lads lost out 2.20 to 2.11. Hard luck to the players and management.

Senior Men’s Football:

The seniors were at home to Malin on Sunday. Despite a poor start the team rallied and went in deadlocked at half time. A determined team re-emerged at the restart and would go on to win 1.16 to 2.06. The lads travel to play St. Nauls next Sunday with games at 1.30 for reserves and 3.00 for seniors. Continued support appreciated!

Senior Ladies:

Well done to the senior ladies who won 1.14 to 1.09 in Mac Cumhaill Park versus Kilcar on Sunday.

Donegal Masters:

Best of luck to Shaun Boyce and Mark Cannon and the Donegal Masters team who play Dublin in the All-Ireland Semi-Final on Saturday in Lacken GAA, Cavan on Saturday at 3.30.

Annual 5K Walk/Jog/Run:

Our Annual 5K takes place on Friday the 31st of August at 7.30pm. Registration takes place from 6.30pm at the clubhouse and all funds raised go towards preparing our underage teams. This is a great opportunity to come out and support our youth and everyone is welcome to participate whether you Run, Walk or Crawl! Entry is €8 for over 16’s and €3 for under 16’s. This 5K is open to one and all and participants from all other clubs are more than welcome also. The more the merrier! There will be underage races on before the 5k. The race will commence from St. Columba’s and finish back at the clubhouse. Refreshments are available afterwards in the Clubhouse. We’d encourage all parents to help with this event also by entering or by volunteering to steward or help with refreshments. All help to steward etc. greatly appreciated.

The Bingo will take place in The Villa Rose Hotel on Sunday with an 8.30pm start. The Snowball jackpot is €9,000 for 45 numbers or less or €500 for 50 numbers or less. All are very welcome.

There was no winner of this week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 1, 4, 15 and 22. There was no match 3 winner so 3 envelopes were pulled out: Peter Byrne, Paul McGurk and Ann Marie McGeehan who receive €30 each. Next week’s jackpot is €8,400.
