Club Notes: Week ending – 18th of March 2018


Match Stewards – Donegal Games:

Sunday will be an historic day in Mac Cumhaill Park when both the Donegal Ladies and Men will host Kerry and Mayo this Sunday. We will need a lot of stewards and help with shops etc. to ensure it runs smoothly. If you are available can you let Alan Martin, Club Secretary, know on 086 172 3899. We would ask all members to give up a few hours as an event like this is so important to the club.


National Draw: Thanks for all the support!

Thanks to Noel, Karl and Ríona Doherty who met with GAA President John Horan in Croke Park on Saturday before the All-Ireland Club Finals to receive a cheque for €1000. The club were joint top sellers in Ulster in the GAA National Draw and we received €1000 as an additional reward. The club would like to thank all its members and the wider public who organised and supported this draw and your generosity of spirit is greatly appreciated.



Registration night on Wednesday 21st of March in the clubhouse from 7.00 to 9.00pm, anyone that needs their Garda vetting done please note Daireen will be there to sort that out as well. Any players who don’t have membership paid will not be able to take part in training or games after March 31st. Anyone who is not vetted is legally not permitted to be involved in coaching teams with underage players and this is being strictly enforced by the club with no exceptions. Rory’s Stories:

Rory’s Stories will be in the clubhouse this Saturday night, the night before the Mayo League game in Mac Cumhaill Park. This is sure to be a very enjoyable night. Tickets are very limited for this show and are priced at €10 and can be got from the clubhouse from 9.30pm to 10.30pm on Thursday night. Anyone who has reserved tickets is asked to lift them on Thursday night between 9.30 to 10.30 at the clubhouse or contact Paddy on 0863382761.


Easter Camp:

The club are running an Easter Camp starting on Tuesday the 3rd of April running to Thursday the 5th of April. The camp will start at 10.00am and end at 2.00pm. There will be lots of games and activities, different sports and fun throughout the week to entertain all present! Prices are as follows: First child is €30, second child is €25 and third child is €20. For more information contact Simon on 0851503092.


St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

A massive thanks to all members of the club whether young or old for turning out to represent the club on Saturay. Thanks to club members who helped steward. We showcased our club exceptionally and well done to all those who attended and organised such an effective and enjoyable parade which was no doubt enjoyed by the large attendance once again this year. The G.A.A is at the fore in terms of local sport for our kids and today highlights what is so special about not only our games but our culture, so once again a thanks to all the kids for turning out so well in wearing the colours with pride, a real credit!



The Bingo will take place in The Villa Rose Hotel on Sunday with an 8.30pm start. The Snowball jackpot is €9,000 for 45 numbers or less or €500 for 50 numbers or less. All are very welcome.



There was no winner of this week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 4, 17, 23 and 26. There was no match 3 winner so 3 names pulled out and receive €30 each: Karen Houston, Convoy, Jimmy Norton, Fintown and Margaret O’Brien, Ballybofey. Next week’s jackpot is €6,300 and Stephen Lynch’s team is selling.
